Turn and zoom the mockup

Orbit the device with the Hand tool, scroll to zoom, hold Space to slide the view, and reset it with one click in Live Mockups.

To turn and zoom a mockup in Live Mockups on ls.graphics, drag across the canvas with the Hand tool to orbit the device, scroll over the canvas to zoom, hold Space and drag to slide the view, and click Reset view, to the left of the 4:3 button, to return to the original camera.

Editor: Live Mockups at ls.graphics/live-mockup-editor. Result: the MacBook Pro scene turned, zoomed, slid and back at its first view. In our test a 70-pixel drag turned it and four scroll notches brought the screen close.

Use the Hand tool

Above the canvas, Select (V) and Hand sit side by side. Hand is highlighted when a scene opens, so you can drag at once.

Questions

Why is there no Reset view button in Live Mockups?

Reset view appears to the left of the 4:3 button only after you move the camera. On a scene you have just opened it is hidden. Turn, zoom or slide the view and the icon shows up.

Does Reset view change my design or the animation?

No. In our test, Reset view brought the MacBook Pro scene back to its first angle and distance, while the design stayed on the screen and the playhead stayed at the end of the timeline.

Do I need to pick the Hand tool before dragging in Live Mockups?

No. When a scene opens, the Hand tool is already highlighted next to Select (V) above the canvas, so a drag across the canvas turns the device at once.

Does sliding the view turn the device in Live Mockups?

No. Holding Space and dragging moves the view sideways while the device keeps its angle. A plain drag with the Hand tool is what turns the device.
